Default rev limiter

reading a post just now, i noticed somebody mentioned the function of the rev limiter. I understand tthe function (not overrevving the engine and blowing it up), but how bad is it for the engine to have the rev limiter engaged. Background info, I have the superchips 3815, rev limiter is set at stock. I've noticed when having some fun that the rev limiter kicks in a for a short amount of time before a shift; should i try to avoid this and let off the throttle a bit so it shifts before the limiter kicks in?

im assuming that by fun and your ability to tap the rev limiter you are talking about burning out and doing donuts?

just curious to compare to my truck how many rpms you hit when your rev limiter kicks in........

Default RE: rev limiter

Since you have the superchips, crank the rev limiter to 6300. Won't hurt a thing. These hemi engines can take it easily. Especially since you arent holding those rpm's for a long time, like you would if you were in a circle track race car.
