Default Dealer price for LSD?

Anyone know what the factory LSD costs the dealer?
Parts dept price to man off the street is $680. What is their markup?
What should the time be for an install? 2-3 hours?
Thanks,
Ductape

If you are going to put an LSD back in, don't put that piece of crap in. Get an Auburn or Detroit...something, just not stock. An Auburn can be had here for $347.39.

The diff. from the dealer was quoted to me for $680 also. They told me it would cost $1100 to install it since they have to open it up. Only reason I am thinking of going that route is because my warranty stays intact. I'm sure the other one mentioned is great (even better) than the stock one. Until the warranty I have on my truck is though, my truck is gonna be equipped with stock parts.

I just call an axle shop around here yesterday for a quote to rebuild my spare axle. He said $175 for the labor to rebuild. I only wanted the lobar quote, because I can get the bearings and seals cheaper than what they would charge me. So, I already bought a bunch of other parts...

4.56 Ring and Pinion = $230 (w/install kit)
Detroit TrueTrac = $430
Labor to install parts = $175
Misc seals and bearings = approx. $100??

That brings my total to $935. So your price isn't too far off... forgot to mention, in my case they won't have to work on the axle with it in the truck, or with the brakes on it (wanted to make it easy for them and cheaper for me). So $1100 isn't too bad I'd say, because its not too far from my cost, and you get to keep your warranty. But I agree with helopilot, don't put the stock LSD in, its the worst part of the that axle. Just my $.02
