Exhaust Component after Muffler?
there shouldnt be anything after the muffler cept the tip....nothing really helps except less bends....but that really dont matter because the improvement is rather minut and not really measureable, the sound is the only thing efected by the tip
The small muffler looking device on the tailpipe is known as a resonator. It further reduces the exhaust sounds. Removing it will make the truck sound louder. You may experience some unpleasant resonances inside the cab if it is removed. However, it depends upon you're ears--some like it, some do not. Performance-wise,some claim a very small improvement in MPG and top end since it's elimination would appear to reduce back pressure. Removing mine, only made it "much" louder. I saw no MPG improvement and since I drive like a grandpa, I had no top-end experiences to compare. After a while, I put it back--the old ears couldn't take it anymore and the wife complained louder then the truck :-)

i removed my tail pipe and dumped the stock muffler before the axle....the sounds is very nice. i left the stocker muffler as i have a cut out on the way. at idle its this burble that you just hear in the background but know something is just not quite like it was. I love it and it really cleaned up the rear end with no pipe back there!
