Default K&N Airfilter.

hey guys. i was just wondering how much better the K&N airfilter is than an original airfilter i get from the dealer. i hear they are suppost to give better gas millage. has anyone on here noticed an increase in MPG or has noticed the gains in HP. I believe this was asked once before but is the K&N airfilter comparable to some of the CAI. thanks.

I can only comment on the K&N that I used in conjuction with my CAI. I gained 2 mpg on the highway after the install, and it was also a cheap eby intake. I dunno if the drop in replacement filter would have the same fuel economy results, but I will say that you'll notice more throttle response, and a better engine tone after the CAI install.

i have the k&n panel filter in the stock air box and the only thing i noticed was my wallet was thinner! it is better than stock considering it will last the life of the truck , you just need to clean it once and awhile. i am considering buying the airaid modular intake tube which will eliminated the intake resonator which will give it more flow.

I haven't noticed much of a diff. on my V6, but the truck is still breaking in at 2900 miles. I got my drop-in K&N on Ebay, barely used for $20 shipped. About the same price as a Fram!
