who do you guys think/know is faster? They both have v6's(mine is stick shift though, upgrades in my sig), although the tacomas acceleration is awsome from its gearing. So what do yall think?

 

Tacoma... It is a smaller lighter truck with a better gearing option, and better power to weight ratio.. Your Dodge is much heavier and probably has 3.55 gears which are terrible for acceleration, on top of that you have heavy 20" wheels which will do nothing but slow you down even more. The only plus you might have is the manual trans... I think the Tacoma takes the cake.

 

..yup...tacoma's can be hella fast...I beat one not too long ago but i was just walkin away, not leavin him in the dust...an I have a pretty modded hemi...then again..he cud hav been modded too...

 

Even though those rims you have probably add 20 to 30 HP, I gotta go with the Tacoma on this one too.

 

Dodge V6 is pretty weak

 

Sad but true, I'm with the rest of the gang....I'd guess the Tacoma will eat your lunch but it's not apples to apples anyway. Your giving up so much weight, gear, drivetrain effeciency, and probably HP (the Dodge V6 is pathetic IMO)...Maybe if you swerve hard in the Tacoma's direction before he pulls away you can distract / scare him and get an edge

 

Yeah I had this comming... What if i put some 4.56 gears(I think that is correct right?) would it be a lot better for acceleration? Right now I'm getting about 18mpg, and the Rpms are at 2100 at 75-80mph.. Can't really beat that also from other vehicals with standards. Although I do have to drop a gear every once in a while [:'(]
