Default SRT 10 Hood Opinion

Hello Everyone my name is Anthony and I am new to the dodge forum. I have a 2005 Ram 1500 Hemi V8. I called up a dodge dealership and spoke with the parts guy asking him for a price on a fully functional srt 10 hood. He was telling me not to get it because when your dricvng in the rain the rain can enter through the scoop and flood the engine. Now to me it sounds logical but I plan on getting the proper air intake to function with the hood scoop. It has me thinking that hey rain can get in here but dodge should be smart enough to come up with an alternative. And why would people still have them on there trucks if this problem can occur. I live in NYC so the weather here is rough. So before I go about this investment I want to know what everone thinks about this. And see how many people with the SRT hood had this problem of water flooding the engine.

Thanks
Anthony

I live in Portland, OR and have had the SRT-10 hood on my 2005 Ram for a year now. It rains a lot here and I have never had any problem. I have the stock air intake. If someone had a Ram Air setup installed, that may be a different situation. I'm not sure about that.

I appreciate you replying to my post. The current air intake I have now comes out of the air manifold and splits to two cones. I am going to see what other people say.

Thanks
