Default Nitrous bottle location.....

I am only a few weeks away from ordering a nitrous kit. Probably going to go with the Zex 125hp kit. Where do you guys mount the bottle? Is it worth it for me to buy a bottle heater kit? What benefit does it give? Is a purge kit necessary? Any other accessories to the kit worth it, or should I just get the kit? Any help would be appreciated as this is my first nitrous kit ever. Also, can you engage the nitrous whenever you want, or does it have to be engaged before launching?

i always thought that it would be cool to mount the bottle inside the cab where the floor bumps up where the transmission is, im pretty sure its not that safe though and it would proabably get in the way.......but it would look cool

a more pratical spot would be to put the bottle in the bed close to the cab and depending on where you live a bottle heater would come in handy to keep the nitrous from getting cold

when it comes to a purge kit im not quite sure what its really for, but it is pretty cool

purge kit will help make sure you have the giggle gas in the line, the blanket will also help since the bottle will get rather cold, you have a liquid going to a gas, temps go down and you will loose pressure.

giggle gas isnt tossed into the intake untill you go full throttle

yes you can have the button there to fire it when ever you want, but you need to be at WOT for you to have the most effect. usualy kits have a switch that is run off the TPS

i have a nitrous kit on my mustang. its good to buy a bottle heater it will come in handy.trust me. a purge kit is neccesarry if your going to the track.(well here it is) and DREW is right on his info. if that kit doesnt come with a WOT switch, get one. its safer then the ones where you press the button to spray. on my mustang i have an activation switch to activate the nitrous and a WOT switch put on my gas pedal. others put it on their TPS like drew said. wutever you do if this is your first nitrous kit, get a WET kit and not a dry one.

Thanks for the info. Yes, it is a wet kit. And it has an arming switch and also only works at WOT. I wasn't sure if I could hit the arming switch after I am at full throttle to spray, or if that would damage something. Sounds like I will get a bottle heater too. This kit is supposed to regulate by bottle pressure so if it goes up or down the kit is to make up for that. Still sounds like a heater is worth it tho. Not going to go to the track more than maybe once to get an ET, so I don't think I'll need a purge kit. I think in the bed near the cab will be the only place to mount the bottle. I was looking, however, at getting a CAI that eliminates the stock air box, and thought maybe I could mount the bottle there. Anyone else do that or find another location for the bottle?
