Babying the gas pedal or driving more aggressively. Not much MPG difference.
The thing that I find is that anytime I punch the gas on the highway, I never get back to my average mpg before the WOT. For instance, lets say I'm taking a trip of 100 miles. In the first 50 miles I'm averaging about 18.5 to 19 mpg (at 75mph). If for some reason I have to hit the throttle to get around a vehicle in front of me, I'll never get the averge fuel economy back above 18mpg. After the throttle punch, it always stays in the mid 17mpg range. Kind of funny, I guess it takes a good amount of gas to move that truck down the road.
have you tried pushing reset while your dribing? thats the only thing i can think of, if you dont do that before or while your on the highway itll figure in your city miles too.
hand calculate it. take the amount of miels you have racked up since your last fill up, and then divide by the amount of gas you put back into your baby.
Whew I hope not, last week I got 16.4mpg on the way home about 190miles and my truck has 35" tires combined with a 3.55 gear ratio... Terrible combination.
