Default overheating

Hi I was just wodering if someone could shed some light on a problem i am having with my 2003 dodge ram 1500 quad laramie5.7 hemi 4 wd. I have never had a problem with this truck until the other day the 1st time I drove if after I had a western 7.5 foot plow installed. I drove it for about 30 minutes after the installation on the highway on my way home and I had to stop 4 times on the way home to keep the truck from overheating. I had the plow at all height and angles but it still was running extreamly hot. Do i now need to instll a lower temp thermosatat like a 180 or 160. I saw the JET performance makes one does anybody know about? any advice would be greatly appreciated. thank you

You'd have better luck in the Ram sections.

How many miles are on the truck? What kind of service has been performed? Did it overheat prior to the plow being added? Have you even checked the coolant level? Some of these sound kind of basic and aren't meant to insult your intelligence. It just helps us get a better idea of what is going on.
