Default Problem with Defrost....

Hello! I have been checking this site for a while, but this is my first post. I have a 2003 Dodge Ram 2500 HD 4x4 Quad Cab. I have been having a problem with the defrost. The air flow is only coming out of the front vents and will not come out of the defrost vents. Has anyone else had this problem? Any help would be great. Thanks.

Default RE: Problem with Defrost....

I've had the problem happen twice on my '04. Lucky for me, I was under warranty both times. It is an expensive fix.

There is a TSB on the issue. Here's a link: http://dodgeram.info/tsb/2003/24-004-03.htm

Basically what happens, is the defrost blend door snaps off inside the HVAC housing, the encoder motor over extends, and then the air does not flow in the direction you need it to.
