Also why would you want to run the crap out of a new vehicle that only has about 5-10 miles on it? That just sounds like a stupid thing to do. Everything have been taught and everyone I know that knows anything about cars/trucks have all said that you never run it at full throttle right away, you wait a while ususally the first 500-1000 miles to break it in before you run it like it was meant to be ran so you dont burn anything up.

I have a friend who used to drag race, on numerous occasions they had rebuilt an engine the night before or even finished the morning of a race.....this provides no break in period and he never had any engine problems. A few times he said they literally had just finished pouring oil into the crank case minutes before a race yet he never experienced engine failure and when rebuilding the pistons/rings/cylinders were all in very good shape. I'll try to find the arcticle from moto news regarding a "soft" and "hard" break in. They have what I consider pretty convincing evidence that a hard break in will give you a better seal between your piston and cylinder wall and will also give more HP gain. They have numerous pictures of pistons broken in soft and hard and IMO there appears to be a pretty significant difference, very compelling evidence IMO.

I have/had 5 different ATV's and my last two vehicles broke in this way, I've had zero problems with burning oil, spark plugs look perfect and mechanically I've had no problems whatsoever. I'm NOT suggesting that I go WOT for extended times I just make sure I hit the limiter a couple of times then back right down. Engines ar engineered much better now then years ago, there was a time it would be common to find metal shavings in your first one or two oil changes with a new vehicle, that has not been my experience with my newer vehicles/quads.

When I called to inquire about the the MPH limiter I asked about any kind of break in chip or anything and they claimed they were "unaware" of anything like that but that was the salesman and sometimes they aren't as informed as many of us are. I'm only at 4,000 miles so if there is more in this thing down the road I'm all for it.
