what upgrade first.
600 isn't going to get a regear done. that will buy both sets of gears and install kits, but unless you can do it yourself (and if you could, you would've already done it) it's going to cost at least that $600 in install labor.
with that said, you should plan to do the regear.....it's just not going to happen now. invest the money in some sort of high interest account and make a few bucks while you're saving up for the rest. and if i were you, i would also do some sort of selectable locker while you're doing the gears.

YEAH MAYBE I WAS NOT CLEAR ENOUGH. I DO REALIZE THAT GEARS ARE NOT CHEAP. BY NO MEANS DID I EEXPECT MY 600 TO PAY FOR THE PROJECT. I GUESS A BETTER WAY OF SAYING IT IS, SHOULD I WAIT SIX MONTHS AND GET THE REST OF THE MONEY, OR GET THE AIR INTAKE NOW AND WAIT 9 MONTHS FOR THE MONEY TO RE GEAR.
get a cheapo ebay intak. got one for 70 or so shipped and it runs down beside the headlight and radiator. hell of a lot of throttle response. then u still can have ur saved money to add to the gears. mines full cold air. pipes all the way from the throttle body to the mount next to the radiator. worth 100% and ther will be money to spare.
i'd just hold off on the intake and save up for the rest of the gears. as mentioned before, you're not going to get enough out of the intake to warrant its cost; especially if it's going to slow down getting gears which is where you're actually going to regain performance.
