Default RE: Really Bright Headlights?

My 06 Ram headlights are SOOoo much better than my old 98..

I run with low beams on the highway, but turn on the driving lights. Lights the ditch up like a stage show. I rarely use high beams now except for some dark, unmarked corners.

I'd always like better bulbs... but I think the new stockers are nice!

Anyone know what's a good upgrade for the 06's??

Maybe the 06 bulbs will work in your 02? Curious if they are different...

I'm not really sure.... judging from what i've read on here, it appears that they changed alot of things from 04 onward.....
I believe even the way the lights look are different. But maybe i'm wrong... maybe somebody will chime in, who knows.

I just installed the sylvania silverstars in my 02 and what a difference they made. nypanama I think you might have not gotten the right lights for only 10 bucks I paid $25 each @ oreillys here in Oklahoma City. but they are great lights.

the 06 headlights are h13 (9008) which are HID lights if i am not mistaken now for 05 and under i do believe they are still 9007 which a HID conversion would be best but I think on 06 just getting the right bulb should so the trick. but I could be wronge.

I ended up purchasing the Sylvania's they were about $10.00 a piece. A little difference, but not what i expected. By the way, did anybody have problems installing the new bulb on the driver side, with the Fuse box in the way?
You bought the "Cool Blue" bulbs. They suck. Throw them away and buy SilverStars. You don't need the new SilverStar Ultra types, they are just supposed to last longer.
PIAA are good, but much more $. I have used, and still use both brands. SilverStars are just as good and less $.
Avoid any bulbs made in Korea.
Look for a color temperature of 4000-4300*Kelvin.

The '06 and up H13 bulbs are a newly designed standard Halogen type bulb invented by Sylvania, and arevery bright. As far as I know they are not now using SilverStar technology, but maybe. They are not HID. H13 SilverStars are not available yet to the auto parts aftermarket.

Great info at this site, http://www.danielsternlighting.com/home.htmlregarding improving the lights on your 02' I've got an'02 1500 Ram 4x4 with the 5.9 and found some good stuffatr this site. There are better choices than the Sylvania Silverstar out there, check it out.

Personally I have the Sylvania Silverstar headlights. They made a good improvement but I did the headlights only and will do the fogs later when I get a chance. They really weren't a bad upgrade for $45. I can't complain about them and will do the fog lights once I get paid.
