Default GOT MY EXHAUST TODAY...WOW!!

I had a flowmaster 40 si/do installed today. dumped, they removed the front resonator before the muffler. The mds is very noticeable when it kicks in, Do you think if I had them reinstall the front resonator it would quiet down the toneit makes when the mdskicks in?

06 QC sport hemi.

truthfully, i don't know if anyone knows of a way to completely fix the sound caused by the mds. The only solution I could think of for having the performance of an exhaust without having problems with mds would be to install electric cutouts, and keep the stock exhaust. The resonator may improve the mds noise some, but I think Chrysler's trick was to make the stock exhaust so quiet that nobody would be able to tell the difference.

What are you noticing when the MDS keeps in?

The only thing I can think of, it that it kicks down and it goes quiet..

I have a cat-back Magnaflow and it sounds great. No resonators... I think I know when the MDS kicks in.. basically the exhaust flow disappears and can hardly hear it. I step on it and it roars...

Fill me in...

Oh.. went on the highway today.. about 600km's... crappy milage!? Doing 110-120kph. Dropped in a K&N filter as well. About 14-16mpg on the highway. I was getting 18-19 before the exhaust change.. and about 23-25mpg if I could keep it at 95-100kph.. That's tough though!

Maybe if I reset the computer it will help!? Need to double check which is the PCM fuse on the 06 first though..

well, how long have u had ur exhaust? it will take about 500-1000 miles for the PCM to learn that more air being flowed so it will have to lean out the mixture and then also ur exhaust note will change and thats when you see the mileage increases. Good luck.

I was wondering how you reset the computer on 03's. I got exhaust on it about 2 weeks ago, think it's still necessary to reset the comp?

1)Pull the PCM fuse
2)Buckle drivers side buckle
3)Put key in and turn to the On position (don't start the truck)
4)After the 1st ring, the PCM has been reset, 2nd ring is the tranny reset

Does resetting the pcm effect anything? Is there any down sides to resetting? Do I only need to go until the first ring or does the transmission need to be reset also.

Will there be any noticeable difference after resetting the pcm?

thanks

ps== I had the stock front resonator reinstalled today, it helped a bunch on the noise level inside the cab. Still will take some getting used to the sound it makes when the mds is working.

I have heard this problem with the mds kicking in with the flowmasters from alot of guys. I had my AT3030 installed last week with the first resonator kept and the second removed and the mds sound is not bad at all. What does it sound like to you? To me it sounds like a very slight jake brake from a semi. It doesn't bother me at all though and I can talk to my passengers and listen to music with ease.
