I still think he hasmore than afighting chance at beating it though. the stock SVT Lightning is only 380hp stock and thats with the supercharger. Hist truck right now with all of his modifications is probably at that or close to it. And remember just because the truck is capable of running in the low 14s-13s stock doesn't mean anyone who goes out and buys one can actually make it run that fast.Butbased soly on my past experiences in racing lighnings in both my ram and my old chevy I think it will be a close race. It may come down to a reaction time or who actually knows what they are doing on the track or wherever they decide to race but its going to be close. I'm still picking the ram coming out on top though. 410hphemi post back once you guys do race and let us know how it goes.

As far as a Lighning being in the same class as the SRT-10, thats a laugh. The lighning is closer to the Chevy SS than the SRT-10.

Well I would classify it in a class with the SRT10.. The new Lightnings have 500HP.. The SRT10 also has 500HP...

I wa sitting at a red light one day this summer when this plane looking Mustang pulled next to me at a red light. He had T tags, Now I have an 04 quad cab 4x4 ,17 in tires and duals With the Hemi. What he had I don't know, but when the light turned green he was off and running. There was nothing I could do to catch him. He was gone in a flash. .Think about it before you have egg on your face.

Truckin151, you obviously don't know jack about the Lightning. The Lightning and the SRT10 are a drivers race stock for stock and the SRT10 has a slight edge, that's it though. As for it being more comparable to the SS, you're smoking crack, the hemi is close to the SS and they would both get destroyed by a stock Lightning. The SRT10 is alot heavier and has more drivetrain loss of power over the Lightning, that's why the Lightning can hang. Stock for stock it is a drivers race I believe but 410 HP will get his *** handed to him on a silver platter if he races. How about he just races him and posts the results. BgBluRam, are you sure it was a NEW Lightning as in production year 06-07? The Lightning went out of production in 04. There are a few ideas being tossed around at Ford right now though for a 3rd generation Lightning but nothing in production right now.

I also think the Lightning would win hands down. The Hemi is quick but not next to a blown 5.4. Just a side comment... if your thinking that you could win because of the same reason you chose the screen name you did, I'd go and dyno your truck, I bet you might be a little disappointed. I don't know for sure, but your mods will most likely not give you 410hp out of your hemi...... Just something to think about before you line up with another car/truck.

i think hes talking engine hp and he probably said ok the intake says on the box it adds 10 so that gives me 355, the jetchip says it adds 20 so that gives me 375, etc. because i doubt he had the engine dynoed. no offense to him i love his truck and that is a pretty good list of mods, but there is no way that his list of mods got him from about 270 rwhp stock all the way to 410 rwhp. thats 140 rwhp increase which is probably gonna be about a 200 engine hp increase.and two of his mods dont do anything. the throttle body spacer, i had one and it didnt do jack. if you look at it its actually got a smaller inside diameter than the throttle body itself. the spacer idea works on a carbed engine but it claims to provide a better air/fuel mixture because of the grooves in the spacer but how can the grooves in the spacer provide a better a/f mix when the air doesnt even meet the fuel until it gets to the cylinders? and with the jet chip ive heard that after your computer gets used to it that you lose the gains you got at first so the only way to keep the power you gain is to reset your pcm every 3k miles. and if im not mistaken dont most lightnings beat srt10s in the 1/4? sure alot has to do with drivers but with comprable drivers i always thought the lightning would win. ive seen stock lightnings beat stock srt10s before but i thought where the srt10 really shines is in a top end race. the lightnings fuel pump cuts out at 146 so the srt10s can beat it there. slap a blower on an srt10 though and you have yourself a lightning killer.

Yeah the srt10 would eat a lightning if it was blown or turbo charged. However, Kenne Bell makes S/C for the lightning and alot of guys are going that route and the KB L's are turning some insane numbers on the dyno and the track.

nuf said bone stock lightning is .3 seconds slower in the 1/4 than the SRT-10...If ford was still making them I would have one instead of my Ram

Im not denying that the lightning is a fast truck. Its just not that fast butthe way you describe it it sounds like your getting the Shelby GT500's specs comfused with the lightnings. And no i dont know anything about lightnings, Ive only raced like 30 of them on and off thetrackbetween allof my trucks. And yes they beat me in my ram but my ram is onlyhas about 330rwhp going for it right now, and I usuallybeat them in bothmy old chevy's.And in my newest76'Chevy that has afreshly builtturbo charged572 create engine I just spank them, but no I dont know the first thing about what Im talking about.

I never read any shelby gt500 specs and you may know alot about cars but you don't know alot about the lightning. I mean, stating that the lightning is comparable to the SS shows you don't know much about the truck becaus ethe Lightning is around 1.5 seconds faster.
