I just bought a 2007 Ram 1500 short bed ST, 2wd, v-6, auto trans. 1st tank of gas was 15.4mpg. Second tank was 17.7mpg. 3rd tank was 16.2 mpg. Working on 4th tank now. Keep in mind, I live in hilly countryside (Tennessee), and our truck has a towing package with limit-slip diff & 3.92 axle ratio. Would I buy again. Heck yes! But The V-8 would be nice. 0-60 9.4 sec. 1/8 mile: 13.2 @ 67 mph
those are not track times, thats my freind timing me while I was driving. So it may be +/- 10% accurate.

 

I would buy mine again for sure. The closest v8 price wise was a long bed for 800 more. If that truck would have been a short bed would I have paid 800 more for the v8? Yes. However I didn't want a long bed and the next closest short bed was $5,000 more. My truck also has the towing package but I got3.55 gears with anti slip. First tank of gas was 16mpg second 15.5 and I drive 90% city. I've owned all 4 cylinders before this truck so powerwise it's fine for me. The street in front of my house is 45mph and most people drive 50 or so and I can pull out in traffic and get to 50 quickly without much room just fine.
