Hey Nos4fuel, I see you have a K&N drop in air filter......why did you choose that over a CAI? And Did you notice a difference with the Drop in filter?

Hey vville 123, have you communicated with striper21? I say this because it appears that his vehicles engine went up on him also.
He has posted on here also, check either page 1 or 2 of this forum.
I think you guys need to communicate, exchange notes and make some notifications. If I'm not mistaken i think he has a 02 Ram also. Who knows, maybe it's something we all need to be worried about......Let me know how it turns out.

you said you had no oil light or dinger going off when it happened? mine did the same thing i found do to a bad sensor in my 03 hemi i had to purchase a new engine. upon pulling it out of the crate we put a high volume oil pump in it and put an a-pillar oil gauge and replaced the factory oil sensor (that i dont trust at all) it runs about 60 psi cruising and 80 psi around 5k rpms. i had to eat alittle over 10k for the new motor, i to thought about a bigger motor and found it would cost more and be a big headache than its worth hope it dosent cost you as much as me.

That 4.7 appears to be a problem ('02 QC 2WD AT). Mine overheated without warning with about 108K miles on it and out of its 7yr/100,000 mile warranty. Dodge wouldn't consider warranty, but it doesn't seem that I am the only one with this issue. Ran 100% synthetic for about 60K, Fram filters, no sludge. Heard it might be the radiator design(?), but still researching. Cost me close to $4K to get it fixed, I think. Fixing it and moving on. Good luck. Search 'amber light' and 'overheating' in these forums.
