Default Tonneau cover question...

I have a 2006 Ram 1500 Sport, and am wanting to get an Extang tonneau cover. My truck came with the OEM "spoiler" installed on the tailgate, with sticks up 1/4"-3/8". Will it interfere with the tonneau cover installation? Also, if I remove the spoiler, will it leave obvious holes in the tailgate (the mounting screws are installed from the outside of the tailgate)? Please share experiences with this, Thanks fellas!

I've seen low profile tonneau covers on 06's with the spoiler with no problem. I think it was an access lorado.

I've got the factory gull wing hard cover with a SRT-10 replica wing - I like the ability to stow stuff in the back but it has really hurt my nability to really carry \ haul anything big with out removing the hard cover. Decided to buy a utility trailer...not sure about the screw holes - the dealer can always repair the tailgate as needed....

I have an '05 SRT-10 and I installed the Truxedo Lo-Pro on mine. The installation took a total of 20 minutes with 2 people, but I did have to remove the spoiler to install it.The spoileris very easy to remove, all I needed was a socket wrench to remove 2 screws (one on each side). The screws are accessable from underneath the bed line and once they are removed, you can slide the spoiler off, pulling it with some forcetowards the back of the truck until it releases. When the spoiler is removed, the vacant screw holes do look kind of ugly, so if you don't really want the spoiler, you might want to purchase a tonneau cover that covers that up.After I installed my bed cover (at the lowest adjustment possible), I reinstalled the spoiler. Keep in mind that if you want to keep the spoiler, you'll needa lo pro coverand you'll have to remove the spoiler anytime that you want to open up your softtonneau cover.[X(]

I went with the Fold-a-cover and had no problems. Have the plastic lip/wing thing on the tailgate. nice to stand on when you get in or out.

Also have the under rail bed liner. Had to cut a couple notches up front where it locks.

But a trick unit that I can remove my self in a couple minutes and it stores nicely since it stacks up.

not plugging access covers, but the laredos do not require removal of the spoiler at all, and the tailgate is still able to be used normally, without needing to remove anything to get into the bed.
