ram daytona intake
hello all,
I have an '05 ram daytona, and I've been searching for a 'ram air' type intake....since my truck comes with the srt10 hood,I was wondering if the intake for the srt10 would be compatible with my 5.7 hemi....any takers?

The SRT-10 does not use the hole for an intake...it is used for cooling. There are a couple of aftermarket places that make an intake for the 5.7's using the SRT-10 hood but they are very expensive.
There use to be a kit on EBay for the 5.7 that put the air cleaner right behind the scoop, but I can not find it anymore. Either I am not searching well or it is gone.
Volant does make a scoop that attaches to the top of their intake that is made for the daytona trucks but don't get it, i had one and when i installed it I noticed it doesn't fit rite at all so i called volant and they said it was supposed to fit like thatdue to a space issue and well after that convo i got rid of it and their intak. There is a website that makes a custom peice that attaches to the bottum of your hood to create an air channel for their system.....
http://www.hambekcustoms.com/products.phpthier set-up is the best i have seen but it is a bit on the pricier side like way on that side lol. I have a daytona and just left the hood alone, for the money you are gonna spend on the conversion it is and i think a lil' more than just buying a functional raim air hood. so I went with a Mopar CAI instead wich i am extremely happy with but if i had the money at the time i would-a gone with the conversion kit from hambekcustoms.
