Here in Florida we do not need front license plates for our vehicles but every new car that I have purchased had the front license plate in the trunk. My daughter gave me a vanity plate (of my favorite college team) so I would like to mount it on the front of my Ram 1500.

1. Does the Ram use a frame or does it screw straight to the bumper. I have the Sport with the color coordinated bumper so if it does I do not see the holes. I do see two dimples in the front of the bumper though.

2. If it does use a frame should it have come with my truck or is it an aftermarket item.

 

since you live in florida and a front plate is not required they might not even come with a plate mount, but mounts are used for putting a front plate on. you might be able to get one from your local dealer.

personally i would'nt put a plate on the front if you dont need to, makes it look cleaner without one, but it is your truck and you can do what you wish with it

 

i live in texas and we have to have a front license plate. i took mine off with the plate mount also. but it left two holes where the plate mount was screwed into the front bumper. but i still like the front bumper without the plate.

 

we have to have plates as well in nevada but I took mine off. I am stuck with the two square holes as well but it still looks better with no plate. I'll bet someone on here would just send you the mounting stuff for free if you paid shipping.
