Default Advice for mods

Ive done a few things to my ram but I would like to do something to give me a little more horsepower. Better gas mileage wouldn't hurt either, in fact that is a priority. Any advice would help. Thanks.

If you want more power, you wont get better mileage. Its one or the other. You need to decide which is more important or which you would prefer more.

you need to get a programer if thats what your after. Superchips makes a nice one that lets you adjust for mileage Im not sure what years it was made for. Also look into a catback system and a CAI if you haven't already. The bad thing about performance mods it is that while they do increase your mileage and most will help your mileage they temd to give you more of a lead foot which in return kills your mileage, its a double edge sword really. Also bigger tires and lifts will also drain your mileage.

this (very) long article
is about MPG improvement,
but skip down to the 'Engine Mods' section
two thirds of the way down
and there are several suggestions about improving both peak HP and MPG.

https://dodgeforum.com/m_447500/tm.htm

In a nutshell
reducing vehicle weight
balancing all cylinders to the same air to fuel ratio
and increasing compression ratio
are the most reliable ways to improve both HP and MPG
at the same time.
