Default '06 4x2 2" or 3" level?

Ibought 2" "leveling springs" on ebay just before seeing www.performancelifts.com 's 3" leveling springs. Which one should I use? I want the leveled look, but I don't want it to be too tall or too short in the front. I measured from the top of the tire to the bottom of the wheel well on the front and back and came out with a 3" difference. But I already have the 2" springs sitting in my living room. Anybody put levelling springs on your truck and have any suggestions?

There's also thequestion of the shocks. Performance Lifts says the the shocks should be upgraded to aftermarket but not extended for the lift at all because that will damage the truck. The springs I bought came with instructions that say to get longer shocks. WTF? I appreciate any input or suggestions.
