Default Amp Gauge Problem - Any Help??

03 QC 4x4 5.7 Hemi 33.5k miles. About a week ago I got into my truck at night, and got about 5 miles down the highway when the "check gauges" light came on. I found the amp gauge was at zero. My knee jerk reaction was to let off the accelerator, and about 2 sec's later it came back to normal about midway on the gauge. Was fine the rest of the 20 mile trip. Then couple of days later I was driving it and noticed the gauge slowly creeping down to zero. When it made it halfway to zero, I let off the accelerator, and again it came back up to normal. Seems my headlights brightened up as well when it was going back up. Anyhow, thought I would see if anyone else has had this problem or could give some insight before I spent money to have it looked at. Thanks.

Default RE: Amp Gauge Problem - Any Help??

FYI, it turns out the battery was bad. Also the alternator is starting to go out. So a new battery and alternator rebuild should fix it.
