I know there are alot of discussions about this, but thought there might be some new information out there.

I just bought this truck less than 2 weeks ago. Everything has been fine until yesterday. At the grocery store, I backed out of my parking spot and the engine died. No lights, nothing. Started right up so I went on. Half hour later was at Westlake's hardware. Left truck idle when I went because wife was in truck and it's cold and icy here in central Missouri. Right before I got back inside truck, my wife said something dinged and the brake & ABS light came on. Shut the truck off and restarted it, lights did not come on. Backed out, half way through the parking lot the same lights came on again and engine died. Started right up, no lights. As I pulled to the street to exit the parking lot, truck idled up and down almost dying but didn't. Pulled out on the street. Minutes later getting ready to turn right onto another street, truck just died again with no lights or anything. Once again started right up. Everything was fine all the way home.

Have read about several causes but unsure what to think. It is an 04 QC with hemi and automatic. It has 63800 miles. I don't know what services have been done, so I'm thinking I need to have transmission serviced and change the plugs at least to be sure. When I change plugs, do wires need to be changed. I have run 87 octane gas since owning this truck. If I woulduse 89 octane gas, would 10% ethanol blend be alright? Most of the Breaktime stations here have 89 for same price as 87.
