Default RE: WATER LEAK IN CAB!!

my truck was a 2005 and they replaced the seals to answer you earlier question. Just mention the TSB to your dealer and im sure they will replace them once you describe your problem.

Dogmeat,

Sorry to hear about our leaking concerns. Keep us updated if you determine the cause of the problem. If you do end up going to the dealer and have any inquiries, PM me so that I can review with you.

I know this is referring to 2002-2008 Rams, however, I have a 2010 and am having the leak from the driver's side grab handle. MANY trips to the dealer with no resolution. Sunroof and windshield (and headliner) have been replaced and it still leaks. Just this week, they replaced the drain tube and, driving home in the rain, it started leaking. Now it is going back to the dealer on Monday and I'm going to suggest looking at the door gasket as has been mentioned here. Thanks for that suggestion!

HI,

I have a bad water leak in my 2008 RAM Quad cab. I don’t have a sunroof. The water is coming in on the drivers side under the back seat in the storage hole area. I am getting like 2 inches of water in there when a good rain comes. Anyone else have any similar water issues? Dealer said maybe the 3rd brake light seal????

Exclamation water leak

surprised no one chimed in here since this is common prob on rams. I have been advised from my glass guy that I need to try butyl tape around the 3rd brake light area where it seal. I will remove the light and apply the tape. He said the seal dry rots and water gets in. Going to try this first.

Sorry didn't notice your post in such an old thread.

Yeah, 3rd brake gasket is a common culprit, so much so that I don't even wait for a leak. I hit the 3rd brake light with clear silicone within the first six months I brought my old '04 home new off the lot. Never had a leak 11 years. Did same to my '14 2500 within 1st three weeks as a preemptive measure.

With an older truck, I'd probably take it apart and replace the seal them after putting it back together I'd still run a bead of silicone around it...

Default seal

would love to replace the seal however the dealer said the only way to get the seal is to buy the whole light?? If anyone knows where I can buy a seal please advise!

Use butyl. Have installed many windshields and back windows on restorations with rolled butyl. That or a $3 tube of RTV Silicone gasket maker, which is what I use to bead the outside...
