Anybody know how to hold 3rd gear with the 545RFE transmission? We're trying to do some dyno pulls on a supercharged Ram 1500 and we're finding it impossible to get it to hold gear. What gear does the trans default to if unplugged? I've found some add-on controllers but they tend to be pretty expensive.

hey try asking this question over on www.dodgetruckworld.com in the hemi section. Those guys seem more tech oriented over there so they may be able to help you better.

 

Thanks for all the replies people .I am considering a 05 Quadcab 4.7 4x4 auto with 80000 miles on the clock but has trans issues. My 05 Quadcab 4.7 2wd is showing signs of head gasket leakage but good trans. The guy is asking $4500.00 for it as is but I think I can get it for 4000.00. I guess with 223000 miles it is bound to happen kinda bummed it has been a great truck up to this point. Getting a reman motor was a thought but the price with shipping is crazy expensive to ship to Hawaii

 

my 2007; pressing the tow haul button once locks out fifth, pressing a second times locks out 4th..... so it won't shift past 3rd
