Default 2006 5.7L Dyno?

Ok, so I'm thinking about getting a an '06 Ram with the 5.7. One of my friends said that the transmission really "uses" the horsepower. Like as in it doesn't get a lot of horsepower to the wheels. Has anyone dynoed a stock '06 Ram 5.7L 1500. Could you post your numbers? Thanks!

You're looking about 275-285 at the wheels.

Just look at the 'stock' rear wheel dyno numbers here:

http://www.hypertech-inc.com/dynodgtrk.html

There is some evidence that the 545 auto trans design
with three 'simple' internal planetary gearsets
is slightly less efficient in some of its gear ratios
than the older 'Simpson' style planetary gearsets in the
727/518/46RE autos
but we are talking 4-8% less
not a large number.

David Vizard of UNC-Charlotte's Nascar Motorsports measured this
shaft dyno of the 5.7 Hemi so in my opinion it is the most reliable one available as of right now

I really miss my manual transmission! Why can't Dodge make a 1500/5.7L-6speed manual?
