Depends on the mods. I have yet to find any good all-around mechanic. You have your custom shops that will do any work besides the little stuff, but it'll cost you. And you have your corner-store shops like Pep Boys that will do the little things (like maintenance), act like they are big things, and then it'll cost you. It all depends on what you want to get done, and how much you are willing to pay for it. I've found out that any shop you go to out here, you have to keep on top of everything and always have that "I'm getting screwed no matter what" mentality. Which is why it's best to just learn how to do it yourself. Sorry this isn't much help, but neither are the shops out here.

bigJ has a point. I took an aero turbine muffler to midas to get welded up because they are a registered aero turbine dealer and installer and the welds are terrible, they leak so I have to buy band clamps to seal them off and they charged me like $280 just for the install. I will never have a shop weld anything in my truck again, I am buying a welder and learning now. I just dropped my truck off at adams driveshaft on sunset and boulder highway about 40 minutes ago to get my gears and posi installed as I will not touch my rear end and I finally decided on this shop after reading many reviews on the place and they are quite reputable. It would be best to find some loacal guys to help you with work or just read up, i have learned alot on these ram forums and can now do almost anything my truck needs.

Yeah, we're pretty much stuck to a pick your poison situation. Need oil changed, find a lube shop. Need tires, find a tire shop. Need lifts or extensive metal work, find a custom shop and keep your checkbook handy.

Speaking of which, anybody know of a good body shop? Some a$$hole thought it would be funny to punch my truck. As least that's what I have to assume. Nothing deep or scratched, but way too high to be a vehicle. Left a big dent right above my right rear fender on the bed. I'll post a pic at lunch time. I've been looking into the forums at those dent pullers, but I've only read bad things. If it'll cost less than $500, I'll just get it done myself (and not claim it on the insurance, deduc. is $500).

Moto, let me know how that goes with your diff. I'm thinking about going with some 33" tires and I don't want any lag from not having big enough gears.

Northwest auto body at Cheyenne and Rancho is a great body shop I think. My truck got side swiped a few months ago, that place happened to be where the insurance recommended I go, but now after doing business with them I would go there any time. They were polite and did great work. I like discount tire on azure road for tires (in the northwest). And I like Terribles at Ann and 95 for lube jobs. I haven't been to any other shops yet. I take my truck to Dodgeland at Ann and 95, but the only real reason I even deal with them is because everything on my truck is covered under warranty right now even oil changes, and they are the closest dealer to me, I generally don't like going to dealers, everything is always so complicated, like just to get an oil change you have to talk to an advisor and all this other crap, everything always takes so long. I bring my wife's car to Terrible's and 10 minutes later I'm driving away with an oil change.

I've heard from some buddies of mine that "The Custom Shop" does great work for lifts and other mods, but I don't have any direct experience with them,

I've ordered shocks through the Custom Shop. Never had any work done, but they had some pretty sweet rides out in front when I was there. Just looked pretty top dollar. Since they're pretty close to me I'll probably have them do the alignment on my truck after I put in the 3" leveling springs. Thanks for the link and refreshing my memory!

Ok I got my truck back yesterday as they said and they did great work, no weird noises and no fluid on my diff like when I dropped my other ram off at firestone to get stuff done. For the gears and posi installed it was $365 and I had to use their oil as well. labor rate of $65 an hour so I think it was worth it. I would definitaly reccomend adams driveshaft to anyone in las vegas for differential work. Great bunch of guys and the secretary is a very nice lady. I normally hate going in places like that because it's normally tense or they try to act like they aresmarter than the customers but in no way was this place like that. I bull****ted with one of the techs for a little while and he didn't know that the speedo is not measured from the ring gear on the dodges and he was very happy I told him that because he said he had been telling customers with dodges that it was like that because most vehicles are that way. Good price, great work and a very comfortable environment to be in so I would say take your truck there. Their number is 568-5680 in case you need directions or to set up an appointment. I don't know about the cam swap but I would talk to some car guys and maybe have them help you. There are directions out there and I have heard it's really not that hard but just seems intimidating as you have to go into the motor.

Quoted myself.....weird. Anyways here's the pics of my dent. Crappy cell phone pics, but that's the best I got right now. Do you guys think I could knock this out myself?
