Default sudden stall

When I was driving home last night I put on the brakes to make a turn, and I slipped a little on some ice so the anti-lock kicked in. A moment later, and still while braking, the truck shut off just as if I had turned the key off. It was not a good situation because the steering stiffened up, thankfully there was no other traffic at the time. I stopped the truck and put in park, and it started right up again.

I don't know if this is related or not, but a week or so ago myABS light and brake light came on and I had no ABS. When I stopped the truck in my driveway and backed up a little the lights went out and the ABS started working again so I just left it.

I did a search on this and saw several possibilities of what it could be. Anyone have a final answer on this?

Well now my engine light is on and is staying on. Is there any way I can check what it is without having to pay for a scan at the dealer? I would imagine it is related to the stall I had yesterday.

Here is the trick... make sure your odometer is set to the odometer, not trip meter. Then turn the key from off to the run position to off to run to off to run and leave it in the run position. The odometer will have all dashes, then bring up any codes and lastly say done. This site is pretty good, just search for the code(s) ...someone else probably had it.
