The 3.7 V6 has less torque and horsepower available.

When a large & blunt pickup body design
like a 2002+ Ram
has less hp available
it makes engineering sense
to add aerodynamic improvements to the truck body
to reduce the hp needed to push through the air.

You will be able to feel the gains from aero improvements
much more on a 3.7 V6 Ram,
than on a 5.7 V8.
Acceleration in the 50+ mph speed range will be more
and highway MPG will improve a greater percentage
on a 3.7V6
than if the same aero mods had been done
to a 5.7, V10 or Cummins.

Bed Tonneau, front air dam, & side skirts
are some of the best mods you could justify making
to a 3.7 V6 Ram.

The above mods probably drop the Cd of the truck body
from the factory 0.52 to something in the 0.38 to 0.42 range.

You could call this truck a 'ricer'
if it had a silly 'Coffee Can' exhaust tip
but it doesn't......

For a 2003 model with 67,000 miles
it has been taken good care of too.

Does your truck have a aftermarket air intake
with a oiled gauze cone filter
and a design that makes more noise than stock?

Does your truck have a throttle body spacer?

Does your truck have an underdrive pulley set
that slowed down the alternator rpm?

Have you measured your exhaust system backpressure
after making a change,
or are you afraid that too large mufflers and pipes will
'reduce your torque' ?

If so,
that 3.7 Ram's owner might have made better decisions
about what mods really work
than you have.........

the air dam and side skirts and mods for the v6 aint what we are talking about, the truck looks good. Its the hemi badges that we are talking about that makes it a ricer, making it something its not

Absolutely my point. I have no problems with the way the body kit, hood scoop or tonneau look. I like all that, it makes any Ram look sharp. Almost makes me wish I got a later model Ram. I'm just poking fun at the fact that the owner went above and beyond to debadge and stick "HEMI" stickers anywhere he saw fit, and then slapped the RumbleBee stickers on the back. I think people who do things similar to this hurt the reputation of our beloved Rams. I'll admit that it is done well, and if the seller hadn't specified engine size I would think it was truly a Hemi Ram...untill I see it trying to get over a hill with a couple thousand pounds of tow weight. Or perhaps seeing something like this at a drag strip getting smoked by a minivan or something. All it takes is someone with a camcorder to record this and then slap it on you-tube for 10,000 people to see it overnight. People who don't know much about the Hemi would probably think "Man..those Rams with the Hemi really do suck", and scratch it off their list of viable truck choices. Then all 10,000 of those people go buy a Titan because they saw it outrun a volkswagon. Of course that's worst case scenario, but I'm just ranting again

That's so lame and completely gives HEMI's a bad name. It disgusts me.

I saw a Hemi badge on a Civic a few times. We use the same road going into work, he usually does about 75/80 on the freeway so I see him pass me on occasion. One day when I have my Hemi or SRT I am going to pass him back is there is no traffic!
