Can switching from a full synthetic to a regular motor oil gum up an engine??

Ok thanks...i dont wanna change from a full synthetic butmy buddy told me that if i did it would gum it up.

The only reason it would gum up the engine is if you use a cheap oil (lots of wax), or don't change it at the right intervals
