were did the fuel go
hi there my friend at work has a 02 1500 ram with the 4.7 truck runs fine when you turn it off and start it back within a hour it starts fine but if u let it sit anymore then a hour it wont start right up. after 4 hours of the truck sitting i made him turn the key on and off several times to prime the engine and sure enough the more u prime it the faster it starts i have tryed to find a leak with no luck in this ****y weather im woundering if the fuel is running back or if anyone has had this problem thanks
I had this on my Dakota back in ’99. It was the fuel pump. When it sat, it lost its fuel pressure and thus would not start. Replace the pump and was good to go. Red
Tell them one way to build pressure up with out turning over the starter is to turn the key to on and wait 15 secs then turn it off. He may need to do this 2 or more times. When you turn the key on it starts the fuel pump up and will build pressure. It will make for a better start until they can get it fixed. This worked on my car when the fuel pump was going bad. It let me limp until I took it in.
It could also be a Fuel Filter that is clogged or even an injector but most likely it is the pump. But have them take it in and have a fuel line pressure check.

well they dont really have fuel filters in the new dodges any filtering is done in the tank with the pump so theres not much to check i will put fresh cardboard down to ensure there is not a leak and if there is no sign i will recommend the fuel pump to him thanks alot guys
