aftermarket throttle body for 5.7?
ive heard of people using fastman throttle bodies on other dodge engines, but i just checked his site and he doesnt make one for the hemi. if you want to check out his site, and email him, he might be able to custom make you one, or to work on yours if you have another vehicle you can drive while your throttle body is off. www.thefastman.com
I just found this one on ebay, is this an OEM throttle body or aftermarket?

it says the status is remanufactured, so that means its probably an OEM one that he did machine work on, which is what fastman does to his. the recommened size for the 4.7s is 68.5 mm, but i dont know what the optimal size for the hemis would be. one thing i just noticed, thought was that on the 3.7 and 4.7 rams, the throttle body linkage is the same. on the 5.7 rams though, the throttle body is opened and closed using a stepper motor (i cant remember what its called but i think thats close to it) so to my knowledge, it should NOT work. on the 3.7 and 4.7 you can open the throttle body with your hand by pushing on the linkage, just like you could open the butterfly valves on carburetors, but if you try to force it open with the hemi, you could seriously mess it up because of the motor controlling it and not the throttle linkage like on the other 2 engines.
The throttle body on the Hemi is virtually perfect. Don't waste your money in search of a replacement that won't perform any better, and may in fact, have dismal performance.
im in agreeance with mazz. spend your money on other mods that will make a bigger difference. what all have you done to it so far, or is it stock?
The only aftermarket ones for the hemi I've seen have been to convert it to cable, and they're $$

I'm not necessarily looking for something aftermarket to boost performance, although that would be an added bonus. My truck has thrown the P2110 code which indicates that the throttle body needs to be replaced (an issue that I've learned is quite common in colder climates). I just figured if I am going to replace it anyway I might as well see what the options are out there.
Stick with stock on this one, the opening on the HEMI is huge and can handle any amount of air you throw at it unless you are running a HUGE super charger setup. Use your money better somewhere else, you will get more out of it that way!
