Default Cold weather = no start

Just had my 07 refuse to start on me last night. It has a strong battery, everything electronic comes on and works, but when you turn the key.....nothing. Also, the key fob seems to no longer work. Cant lock or unlock the doors, nothing. Here in VA, its been in the single digits with highs in the teens, and the tow truck driver informed me that he has been getting a LOT of calls for 07 vehicles with failure to start problems. He is finding out that all of them have alarm issues. My feeling is, I needed my truck today, it wouldnt start last night, and I had to go through hell and back to find a car to get my girl to BWI airport so she could see her mom! Im not mad, I am disappointed. Truth is, I have not heard from the dealer, and until I do, I have no idea whats wrong.

BUT

I did check the fuses and found a blown one, it was a 2 amp fuse, for starter something or the other. I dunno, I just yanked it, put in a 20 from the cigarette lighter fuse, to see if it would start. Nope. dangit.

SO, here I am, truck-less, girl-less, and hopeless.......but at least my dog is smiling at me. :-)

Well, except for the fact you keep calling your truck a car, you have the makings of a good country song!

NOW I am pissed. The dealer just called, said they had to clear the computer for my alarm system and the vehicle started. The cause was determine dto be static electricity between the key and the steering column that caused the short. BUT, they are not going to give the vehicle back to me because they are ordering a new control module (which is on back order). That means, I STILL have no truck. And, they cant give me a rental because the vehicle is not being repaired, its waiting for a part. OOOH, I could eat nails right now....

So, anyway, thats my update.

BS, if they are keeping it for a part, then they are repairing. Get on their asses and get a loaner!

I fully planned on making a stop by there tonight. If my truck will start, then let me drive it while the part is being ordered !!! seems logical to me!

update again: stopped by the dealer, as they were going to give me a rental. They told me it would be 15-20 minutes (ended up being 45). So while I was waiting, I decided to walk over to parts to see what they DID offer for the truck. Noticed a fine little momma working in the parts department, all of 110lbs. Anyway, all they offer is exhaust, body kits, spoilers, tonneau cover, wheels, tires, etc. but not lift kits. So, I went back to waiting for my rental and Enterprise shows up with a neon. A neon. I am 6'3 vertical, 16" horizontal and they give me a neon? So after filling out the paperwork, going through the "process", they ask me for a credit card. WTF? They say its normal procedure to put a $100 hold on the card of the customer. Pssht, F that, I aint got a credit card! So they let me have the car, and I kinda fit, little snug. But I noticed this little neon (06 4-door auto) has a little pep to it. I had an encounter with a MB 190 this morning, and it pulled pretty strong til @ 60. I was surprised.

Oh, about the truck. The part should be in today or tomorrow and hopefully I can get it back today or tomorrow. I miss Big Nelly and cant wait to get back into it.
