30,000 mile maintenance cost
I'm taking my 04 4X4 1500 in for the 30,000 mile maintenance next week. I got an estimate of $460 for spark plugs, tranny service and service on both axles. Does this sound like a decent price? I'm not used taking mytrucks to a dealer for service, but thought that I probably should as I have not had the best of luck with trannys in my other Dodge truck.

Written quote from the dealer is as follows: 1) Trans serviceincludes 2 filters and 8 ATF -$151.65 2) Tune up (plugs/Hemi) includes 16 plugs - $112.20 3) Axle service includes 5 75W90 synthetic, 1 limited slip, 1 axle RTV and 2 brake cleaner - $172 for a total of $436 + tax

I found a much cheaper way to do it!
#1 Blow up your tranny - then you get a brand new.
#2 Complain about problems with rear end - under warranty they will have to open it up, check it out, and change the fluid when they seal it back up.
#3 Do the spark plugs yourself.

RE: 30,000 mile maintenance cost
I've seen 30,000 mile maintenance jobs cost almost $800. Looks like you found the honest breed of service shop.
Sorry to threadjack, but Silver Eagle's post caught my eye.
Not really looking for a free brake job becauseI just got my truck in Sept. of '06, but my truckreally does pull to the right on stops and when I take off, I have to correct the wheel. I've been meaning to check tire pressure but I don't have a compressor and all the stupid gas stations around me either don't have air or the pumps are broken. Do you guys think it would simply be an air problem or should I take my truck to the dealer to have them look at it?
