Tire size question
Hey eltupac, first off, I'm not young and naive. Yeah I'm a fairly new member here, since I've just bought my Ram in Sep. But I've had my fair share of automobiles and have a fairly decent idea of what I'm talking about. Second, I just find it pretty sad when someone who has just joined the forum and only posted a few times happens to ask a question that some people are tired of hearing, so those people, just because they've been here for a year or two and think that that gives them the right to do so, all jump down the guys throat and make them feel like an idiot for asking a simple question. Really good way to encourage more people to join dodgeforum. Yeah I get tired of every other post asking the same questions (what size tire? what cai? what exhaust? man I smoked this guy today! man this guy smoked me! are K&N filters worth it? what oil should I use? etc.) but hey, here's a concept! Don't read every post! I doubt there's someone holding a gun to your head forcing you to read every post on the forum. So why don't you and the other's like you lighten up? Sorry for my rant moderators, just have little tolerance for arrogance.[:@]
hey dodgeman, the 2006 and up rams have struts up front which doesn't give us has much clearance in the tire to control arm. we have about 1 inch less ( with stock 20") than the 2005 and older. I have the same dilema because we have to keep the width down to about 11 inchs.I think275/65/20 will fit. 34" high.
i hope this helps i run 315/70/17 bfg a/t's on my 03 qc ram i did have to twist up the bars just a little but what a different look much better than the stock ram with the cheesy 20's street tires on a 4x4

If everybody used the search then this would be reduced to "Hey, here's a pic of my......."
35's will JUST fit an '03-'05 providing they are no more than 12.5 wide and the right wheel is used, however (and I know this from experience) they WILL rub bouncing off-road, making tight turns, carrying weight, etc. IMO 33's are the max unless you are just gonna use your truck to drive down to the mall (not making any tight turns) on Friday nite, and sit in the parking lot.
Rock Ram is right on regarding the struts in the '06+ trucks, you lose about an inch or so, although I believe you would still be ok with 33's under virtually any driving conditions.
