Default Piggyback lift

I've already got some 2" leveling springs for the front end of my truck. I'm afraid that it won't be tall enough to completely level the truck. Has anyone put a leveling kit on an '06 2wd and how much was the lift in the front? I've seen 2", I've seen 3", what should I do?

Now for the hypothetical, what if I installed the 2" springs, then added somespring spacers (the piggyback) and and then lifted the back if needed? Would that be too much stress on the spindles or the ball joints? Would I need to extend my brake lines? I'm looking for a very budget friendly lift and this seems to work out well for me. I've already got the springs ($150), found some 2" spacers on ebay ($30), and if the back needed to be lifted I can get some blocks (like $20 at Autozone or some place like that) or some shackles ($50-$75). Then the price of shocks but I haven't decided which to go with yet. So I'd be looking at about $400 for a 4/1(or 2)lift. Is there anything I haven't thought of? Is this too crazy? I won't be doing anyserious off-roading because I only have 2wd, butI do want it to be stable. Anybody try something like this? I tried the search but came up blank. Anybody seen this already?

Default RE: Piggyback lift

I think I've found a more definitive solution. I found some small (about 1.5"-2") universal rubber spring spacers at PepBoys for about $5 each. That would give me the extra inch or so that I want without being too tall for my brake lines, spindles, and ball joints. I'll put those under my 2" taller springs and then see if I even need to mess with the rear. I'll be doing this within the next couple of weeks, self install, so I'll try to take some pics, if they are any different from that one guy's sweet write-up he did (it's in the 3rd gen DIY sticky).

Asking one more time: is there any reason that I should not be attempting this? I don't see any harm that could be done, but this is my first time tackling the suspension on a 3rd gen.
