Default Questions from a newb....

trying to avoid flaming and i did search thru the forums before i decided to post... i have an 04 4.7 1500 2wd, it has an auto, i've thinking about FI(forced induction) but like i said earlier, i have an auto... i want to know if what the threshold(how much hpand tq it could take)on the ATX is before i would have to think about actions to bolsterthe tranny and if there were any companys that offer kits of fully built ATX's for the car... thank you.

Don't worry about getting flamed for being a newb. People around here are nice for the most part. This will be a very difficult question to answer as no one is really going forced induction on 4.7 liters. Check out www.airram.com and email the owner, he has a 4.7 that is running better than alot of hemis. He is N/A but VERY knowledgeable. He is also a member around here. He may be able to answer your question.

I think I read the 545rfe (5 speed) are rated for 400 ft-lb torque, but I don't remember where I read it. You can go more but it will shorten the life of the trans.

There are many sts turbos on auto hemis with the same trans.

The trans works fine and holds up great as long as you don't slam the power into a downshift mode.

I don't know of anybody that has done an sts on a 4.7, but it should bolt right up. Problem will be tuning. The sts dodge kit no longer included tuning. You'll be on your own.
