I've had to take mine off because they gave me one for an 06 instead of an 02. The dealership basically told me that I will ultimately destroy the plastic screws when I try to take them off. They told me the trick is to use a small drill bit and drill right through the middle of the plastic screw. I did it myself and it worked like a charm.

If it is a flat plastic top with the philips head indentation, it may just be a push pin. A side pliers (the one that looks like a cutter on the bottom side with the wedge opening toward the other side) works wonders for push pins on the dodges, or at least it did on the push pins that hold on the insert where the tow hooks go (which also happens to be the same pins that hold on your color part of the bumper below the grill.

In a carwash the air blower took mine off very easy. you could try it by pulling up than down towards the grill . lol
I had no damage just wrecked the plastic pins which your planning an drilling. You know you will have 4 tiny black spots an top of grill were the reflector had supports , from rubbing against it. You cant notice it unless you know its there.
Hope this helps , but i would drill.

That is a good point dillyw. There may very well be the little spots where the rubber supports have worn in the paint. Also, depending on the color of your truck and how long its been on there, there will probably be some color fading. Its the most noticable on the flame red.

I have a black 03 that had the "chrome" deflector on it and I took it off just after getting the truck last year. I had no marks at all. You should be able to pop those things out. Mine unscrewed like they were supposed to and I just grabbed with the pliers and out they came. Looks way better without the deflector.
