Default 07 ram amp install

i just installed my amp in my truck but for some reason when i turn the volume down the sub volume stays up. did i hook it up wrong? am i supposed to hook it to the factory amp?? can anybody help me out with maybe a wire chart or maybe some instalation instructions.

Choose which sub you have and the ohm of your amp... As for the sub staying loud, how did you wire it? to the head unit, or to the speaker wires?

i made a line out from the headunit and drew it to the amp. then i lined it to the subs

Have you tried messing with the level and controls on the amp, and the controls on the head unit? Because you can have the sub and amp turned up really high and the volume low and you will have a lot of bass still... It might just be normal, just turn your sub down when you want it to be quieter.

Prolly need to adjust the gain. Do you have a stock deck or aftermarket? If it's a stock one, did you use a line output converter?

yes, it is the infinityfactory head unit and i used a line out converter. i tried playin with the levels and it still didnt work. when i put the levels down a little it wasnt givin enough sound at all.

If I remember correctly, all volume output is decided at the factory amp in the infinity system. The headunit sends a signal to the factory amp to tell it to increase or decrease the volume. They make specific adapters for the infinity system to allow you to use an aftermarket amp due to the bus system used. I'll try to track one down and post a link
