Default 4.88's for a chrysler 9.25?!? Where can I get em?

Hey fellas, I'm having a hard time finding some 4.88 gears for my truck. I can't find anything bigger than 4.56's. I have 38 " tires on my truck. But I also have a 46RE trannsmission, would 4.56's be low enough for my truck? I'm thinking not, but I may be wrong. I roll down the highway at 60 MPH and I run only 1500 RPM. Thats why I don't think that 4.56's will work. Also where is a cheap place to buy gears? Also sorry The pics sux It was taken on my crappy RAZR cell phone.

With 38's? No 4.56's will not be low enough, although would be a huge improvement over your 3.55's.. I just went through the same thing, but I have 35" tires, and the 5R5FE Trans... 4.56's are good with 35's but I looked for 4.88's also.. some 5.12's would be ideal, but I dont think they make them for the Corporate rear..

EDIT: how did you get the 38's to fit without rubbing? I think I could fit 37's but it would be tight, I also have a 6" lift.

There isn't anything lower than 4.56 for the AAM 9.25 front axle.

All I did was type in his truck and it threw those options up with 4.88's. I didn't know the size of the ring gear in a D44 but I am pretty sure that is what he has. I very possibly can be incorrect though. He should just call the place up and tell them what he has and all that.

I also have a 3 inch body lift on my truck. They only rub at full turn. Thanks guys for the input, I'll call randy's ring and pinion and see what they have to say. I'm sure they will know exactly what is in production for my axle's. By the way Its a 8 inch for a front axle.

So it's 9" of total lift?? Or do you have a 3" susp. and 3" body?

With 38's you might look at an axle upgrade not just a gear upgrade. That is a lot of stress.

yes the stock axles do not like anything over 35 inch tires. Especially on a vehicle this heavy.
