hey guys i just nabbed an SRT-10 Hood w/functional hood scoop, but i live in cali which means once in a while there will be rain since there is an opening in the hood scoop will that affect anything under the hood?

 

I'm not trying to be a smartass or anything, but is the rain in Cali any different than anywhere else?

 

 

Not to make a funny out of this but what do you think will happen, will it drown.? I have a Customized PT Cruiser that has a louvered Hood, I drive it in the rain all the time. Your truck

haselectronic igination .Unless you pour water into the intake directly nothing is going to happen. .Why do you suppose they make them in the first place.?

 

I have no problem with the SRT hood in Portland, OR where it rains very often.

 

If the hood is black then it will destroy your engine so you need to sell it to me.

 

Its red so -=( haha thnx guys i was just kinda worried cause i didnt specify that i have the intake that nabs the air from the hood scoop kinda like the volant air intake for a SRT10

 

what part of cali are you from Erzengel2k?

 

if you have the scoop that volant puts out that is ment for the hemi, to save you some time it won't fit correctley. I bought one and installed it and it doesn't line up with the scoop so it looks sloopy and when i called volant they said it is supposed to fit like that cause the winshield washer fluid container sits to close and they will touch and the washer fluid container will end up comming loose and making a mess all over you engine so yea i returned that sh*t lol

 

Hi sir,i have the same interrogation as you.I will install one srt-10 hood on my Ram with a 4.7 litres with a air intake kit for a direct air entry.I dont know where the rain will go ,on the motor or in the air filter on the highway condition.
