Any tips for quieting down power steering pump?
I would like any suggestions on quieting down mypower steering pump.No alarming sounds but just that whine at higher rpms (1500+).
I have changed fluid and hoses, flushed cooler, and put an inline filter to help keep the fluid clean.
I have seen people recommend electric pumps but I really dont want to go that route.
Any high end or just plain good aftermarket mechanical pumps that are quiet?
What is it exactly that is making all that noise anyway?
The only thing I wanna hear is my exhaust.
BTW current mileage is 65000.

what type of fluid did you put in after you flushed it? the shop that changed my pump (when it was leaking) put plain ol p/s fluid in it this caused it to whine when it first started up till it warmed up. after i brought it to their attention they changed it to atf+4 and all the whining went away.

Man, is there no better technology out there than this? I take it from the lack of ideas that these cruddy plastic power steering pos are the best we can do.
