Anybody swap 545RFE for manual on 1500 Hemi?
This has probably been asked before, but is anyone aware of a successful manualtransmission swap for a Hemi Ram 1500?
I know they don't offer it from the manufacturer, but it seems like a swap to a G56 (the 6-speed manual available in the Ram 2500 or 3500) or maybe even a T56 wouldn't be that much of an issue.
Just thinking for down the road. I'd love to have bolt-up manual transmission option when it comes time to overhaul.

I definately agree that would be a bitching thing. Yea i doubt it'll be too long b4 an overhaul is needed personally don't like the auto trannies at all. just don't hold up as well as manuals in my opinion.
You just can't "bolt on" a manual transmission in place of the automatic. The PCM will detect faults and shutdown the engine. For example, there's a TSB on engine stalls due to low pressure in the transmission. If you're going to try a sway, you'll need some kind of wiring/PCM changes as well. This isn't like the good old days. Nowadays, PCMs run almost everything in the vehicle and are easily upset by major swaps. Shoot, you can't even buy a replacement key without programming.
