i got a 4.7 and i am very happy with it, it does get any job i need done, mind you u are not going to be running a higher octain fuel, so cheaper on gas, not to mention a little better mpg,
plus the 4.7 is proven and very reliable, i have heard of some issues with the hemi

depends on what your doing too, i dont haul more than 6k, and my truck does great with that,

Hemi man, my personal opinion would be to go with the hemi so you have the extra power. My dad does have a 4.7 in a rcsb and it has lots of power. He also has the six speed. I rule the hemi out for myself and the 4.7 because I want great power and a stick shift with good mpg therefore I went diesel. I really wish dodge would make a six speed for the hemi in a 1500 that way I could get the 5.7 six speed and rcsb 4x4 (dream truck for me right there)

What kind pf a idiot thinks they dont have a 4.7 hemi. I have yall know i have a 2011 dakota with one and boy . Ill tare a full size a new one. By a 3 truck links. 12.8 in the quarter. And thats when i had a piece of crap bully dog. Ya dont want none with my new soft ware that makes my drive by wire open up 100%. Not to mention my headers and x pipe. Plus magnaflow exaust. Yall for get all about porting the heads as well. Love to take some of yall money with yall big horns.o and anybody ever heard of a three pound boast. Just enough to mAke that 4.7 HEMi scream. I will let you guys think about that for a second. Any way yall aint got onside this 4.7 HEMI,AND IF YA DID . IT YOU WOULDNT HAVE A CHANCE.LMAO

 

 

I've towed a few cars on a heavy 4 wheel trailer with this 4.7 Dakota and can tell you that it felt effortless. The pics above is a car I towed for 8 hrs from Virginia to Atlanta and it almost felt like there was nothing back there. I'm sure the Hemi would make short work of it, but I had zero issues. Ran with O/D off, of course. As I approach 270K, I can say without a doubt this engine is very reliable and smooth.

 

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this. I did read the whole thread. Is the 5.7 "non-HEMI" block identical to the 4.7 block? I am removing my 4.7 for a rebuild. I wonder if I could swap out the block and heads. Are the sensors and wiring similar to the 5.7?
