Default Some electrical cycling at idle and no high-idle

I´m new to this forum, hoping to learn a whole lot from you all.
Well, I've got a 2005 diesel and when cold and idling, every 5-10 seconds something (sounds like a relay) ticks under the hood, dimming the headlights a little bit and slowing the heater fan. After another 5-10 seconds this ticking sound comes again and lights brighten, the heater fan speeds up again. This cycle continues for some time, I'm not sure for how long.
The truck does not high-idle when cold. can that be related to the SixGun chip?

Probably the AC compressor cycling off and on. It will do this with the AC off when in defrost mode. Don't leave it in defrost all the time or your mileage will suffer.
I have no idea why it does this. Ford and GM vehicles are this way also.[:@]
The electric cooling fan will come on too. Seems counter productive when you want heat...[&:]

I have a new stock 06 it does the same thing.
I think it is the airbox heater cycling.
26 years ago I had a Chevy that did the same thing when the glow plugs cycled at cold temps.

Doesn't the Diesel also have a heater for the fuel at cold temps as well?

Thanks guys.Feel better already (thought something was wrong).
How about the high-idle? Mine does not do that at all, can that be related to the powerchip?

BTW, this is one excellent forum, think I'll be a regular. [sm=smiley20.gif]
