Default Tires and a programmer

Haven't used the forum for a while, I had a 2000 dodge ram 1500 the last time i used the forum and now i have a 2004 dodge ram 2500 QC 5.7 Hemi. Was just wondering if i put 3 inch body lift on my truck will i have a problem fitting 35 inch tires?. The other question i had was i am thinking about purchasing a hypertech programmer, has anybody used one of these and are they a good investment.

This is my experince with the Hypertech programmer.

I bought the Hypertech programmer to correct the speedo when I changed from 17 inch to 20 inch rims (31 inch to 33 inch tire diameter). The outside of the box said that it would do that, but it doesn't.. In fact this is taken directly from their web site:

"Automatically corrects speedometer and odometer readings for non-stock tire sizes and/or non-stock rear-end gear ratios (accurate odometer readings are required by law)".

However, this function is not available for the Hemi motor. 300 dollars wasted. I wrote Hypertech to complain and they told me that it was in the instructions that this option is unavailble for the Hemi. The box says #50013 is only for the Hemi. So, it contradicts intself.
Anyway, I have read that some of the other programmers work well for the speedo adjustment if that's what you would like to do if you get taller 35 inch tires..

I did use the power tuning on the programmer since I had the programmer already. I did not notice a difference in the power myself.

I used my Superchips programmer to change my speedo and it worked great. I put 35s on it, and of course the speedo was WAY off. Told Superchips I had 35s, ran the program, and bam, got it really close (as compared to handheld GPS speed).

As far as your tires go, I have 35s on my 2006, and I only have a leveling kit, and they fit perfect, so my guess is you will be fine. But, most kit manufacturers tell you what the largest tire, wheel, and wheel backspacing is recommended as a pairing with their kit.
