Default crank seal leak?

I just took my truck in to get my "wonderful" Dodge power steering pump fixed and they told me that my crank seal is leaking engine oil. Has this happened to anyone else? And if so, how many miles did you have on your truck. I only have 41,400. I love my truck to death, but am starting to get fed up with all these problems for only having 41k on it. I have already had the retaining clips replaced in the rear end, pinion seal, busted rear sliding window, window trim molding is tore to shreds on the driver side, now the power steering pump and crank seal. What is next? I understand that many of these are quite common with these trucks, but I mean at such low mileage I am really starting to think of trading in the Hemi.

I just took mine in yesterday to confirm that my front crank seal is leaking also. I have an 02 with 40,300 miles. Rack and pinion seals are also leaking. I'm trying to find out if Chrysler will cover the rack and pinion. My crankseal is covered under the 7yr/100k powertrain warranty but I have to pay a $100 deductable. I will be changing the rack myself if Chrysler won't help cover it.

There is somewhat of a recall on those door seals . When you take it in to the stealership tell them about the seal , they should replace both sides with a more inprove one that won't strip or tear. I had both of mine replaced for $0.

By the way guys, Where did you notice the engine oil leaking from that you knew it was the crank seal ? Was it by where the front end of the shaft where it meets with the oil pan?

Alot of times places will tell you that a rear main is leaking when in fact its not. Try to get under the truck and see where the oil is coming from yourself. Remember oil runs downhill so the leak could be from a valve cover or just about anywhere. Check to see yourself if the oil is from somewhere higher rather than just assuming that its the rear main.

Mine is on the front of the engine right above the oil pan. It is the seal behind the large pulley. I agree people sometimes think there rear main is leaking when it actually is the valve covers.
