Default 2004 Ram 1500 + Tire Squeek

I plan on taking it in this weekend, but I like to get a feel for what I may be in for, and sound like I have a clue when they roll their eyes when a women mentions squeeks.

Truck has 22K on it. Squeek sounds like it comes from the front drivers side tire. I hear it mostly when I am doing the slow horrible 5-20 mph crawl in a traffic jam. High pitched, stops when I step on the break.I almost always here it when I am stuck in the jam, but not always at other times with slower speeds (stop signs and such)

thanks

jen

well, i would say that if it stops when you step on the brake that would point to the pads being worn down and the squeeler is the culprit...at 22K i would find that a lil odd but i guess it would depend on the driver and the type traffic they in and so on so forth......the reason you prolly hear it in a taffic jam and not slowing down at a stop sign is the sound is reflecting off the other vehicles around you....try driving like downtown where there's lot of buildings and see if you can hear it.....

but my $.02 worth says ya need new frt brakes....but might wanna get opinion from a couple of the other guys first

Took the truck in and had it looked over by my mechanic last week he said the front brakes were new.

I have been hearing the exact same thing in my truck, it usually only does it on longer roads though. I have not been to my mechanic about it yet, but it sounds like i dont need to either lol. My truck is a 05 1500 ram.

Got one clue today, have to see over the next few days cause I cant get the truck in until next week. It seems to be more noticeable when its damp or wet. Cleared up this afternoon and I could barely hear it, although it was still there.

Squeeks are most annoying!
