The **** on the normal 1500 4X4 has 2WD, 4HI, 4LO, THE AWD 1500 has 2WD, AWD, 4HI, 4LO. IT only comes in the 1500 models. I just ordered a new 07 Laramie 4X4 QC with this option, i did not like the spinning trying to take off in wet weather at a stop light or stop sign.

 

AWD is different to 4wd, AWD is mainly used on cars as 4WD is used mainly on trucks and suvs, in my knowlege Dodge does not make the ram with awd although it does make it 4wd now on the **** it says, 2 lo - 4 lo - and 4 hi. now im only going off what i know, i have been wrong before.heres a webpage to go to click on the button on the top of the page that says FOUR - WHEEEL DRIVE http://www.dodge.com/en/ram_1500/fea...apability.htmli hope this answers your question.

 

I have an 07 4x4, and my options are 2, 4-hi, 4-lo with a N button. There is an option that includes A, but still allows for 2, 4-hi, and 4-lo.
